Liturgy of the Word with Children

Liturgy of the Word with Children (LOW) is a worship experience for children ages 6 and older and is offered twice a month during Sunday Mass from September to May.

As baptized members of our community, children have the right to hear the Word of God. Sometimes, however, the vocabulary used in the readings during Mass prevents them from truly hearing the message.

During LOW, Scripture readings taken from the Lectionary for Masses with Children are worded for better comprehension. Participants also have the opportunity to share their own understanding of the readings they hear.

After gathering together in the church at the start of Mass for the Introductory Rites, the children process to their own "chapel" with the LOW ministers. The presiders proclaim the Word and help engage the children in a reflection of the day's readings. After the Prayer of the Faithful, all return to the main assembly to celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

No registration is required.
